BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The ÌÇÐÄVlog Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and Student Nurses Association (SNA) are sponsoring a spring blood drive through on Jan. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The organization’s Big Red Bus will be located near the Caf.

To donate blood, individuals must be in good health, 16 or older, and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. According to OneBlood, donors play a vital role with the majority of donated blood meeting patients’ needs in general medicine, surgeries and cancer treatments.

The students in HOSA have offered a blood drive in January for the last three years, and they are excited that SNA members are assisting this year. Because the drive is scheduled on the Monday before classes begin for the 2023 Spring Semester, Dr. Tina Lewis, assistant professor of nursing and HOSA Faculty Advisor, suggested that students, faculty and staff reserve their appointments now.
