Winter Family Weekend at ÌÇÐÄVlog Connects Families to the Undergraduate Experience

Schedule Includes Athletic Events, Angie Keilhauer Concert, and Q&A with the President

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—Winter Family Weekend (Feb. 10-12) at ÌÇÐÄVlog offers a chance for families to experience life on campus and cheer on the Runnin’ Bulldogs in tennis, softball and basketball. Along with having fun, families are invited to celebrate their students’ achievements. During the weekend, a reception will honor students on the President’s and Dean’s Lists, and the Senior Pinning will be held on Sunday afternoon.

Students and families will have an opportunity on Saturday morning to participate in a Q&A with ÌÇÐÄVlog President Dr. William Downs, and Sunday begins with Worship at the Webb at 10 a.m. in Dover Chapel. In addition, several fun activities are planned each day: Bingo, open mic night, karaoke, tailgate, concert by The Voice contestant Angie Keilhauer, and Run for the Heart 5K.       

Family Weekend Schedule

Feb. 10

  • 2 p.m., GWU Women’s Tennis vs. Limestone College, Webb Tennis Complex.
  • 4 p.m., Invitation-only reception for students named to the President’s and Dean’s Lists.
  • 5 p.m., GWU Softball vs. Austin Peay State University, Brinkley Stadium.
  • 7:30 p.m., Angie Keilhauer Concert, Tucker Student Center. (The concert is free for GWU students and families. Others may purchase tickets, .)

Feb. 11

  • 9 a.m., Run for the Heart 5K, Tucker Student Center. The race will be free for all participants, but donations will be accepted and given to the American Heart Association. Registration required. Please register .
  • 11 a.m., Presidential Q&A, Tucker Student Center. Registration requested. (After Feb. 7, contact the Student Engagement Office to register.)
  • Noon, Family Tailgate, Tucker Student Center. Registration required by Feb. 7
  • 2 p.m., GWU Basketball vs. Campbell University, Paul Porter Arena, Tickets available .
  • 3 p.m., GWU Softball vs. Ohio University, Brinkley Stadium.
  • 7:30 p.m., Family Bingo, Tucker Student Center. Registration required by Feb. 7.
  • 8:30 p.m., Open Mic Night and Karaoke, Tucker Student Center.

Feb. 12

  • 10 a.m., Worship at the Webb, Dover Chapel.
  • 10 a.m., GWU Softball vs. Robert Morris University, Brinkley Stadium.
  • 12:30 p.m., GWU Women’s Tennis vs. Elon University, Webb Tennis Complex.
  • 2 p.m., Senior Pinning, Tucker Student Center. Registration required. (Seniors can register and pay for guest tickets in the Office of Student Engagement, Tucker Student Center.)
  • 2 p.m., GWU Softball vs. George Mason University, Brinkley Stadium.
